Name: Leslie Mitchell
Age: 46
Born: Laramie, WY
Occupation: Bank President - FirstBank of Cherry Creek
Family: two fabulous boys: Mitch, 17, and Peter, 13
Favorite restaurant: Devil's Food on South Gaylord
Favorite movie: Casablanca - I keep hoping it will end differently
Favorite tv show: Honestly, I don't watch TV
Favorite book: I have 2: The History of Love and Fugitive Pieces. Both are beautifully written, rich characters and tragic
Why did you start running/walking: I'm not very coordinated - running was the one sport that didn't require any equipment to mess me up
Running/walking since: 4th Grade - I won the 400 yard run of the Presidential Fitness Program
RMRR member since: I belonged first in 1979, but didn't participate because I thought it was for elite runners. I joined again in 1999 and have been active since.
How did you learn about the RMRR:  too long ago to remember
Weekly mileage:
Favorite place to run/walk: Wash Park. It's my park, but I'm happy to share it with others. It's beautiful year 'round and provides a safe, easy place to run in the city.
Favorite workout: I run around Wash Park almost every day - it's my meditation.
Most satisfying performance: Chicago Marathon 2002. I qualified for Boston and Paula Radcliffe set the new world record for the women's marathon
Favorite RMRR event:  Any of the longer races (8, 9 or 10 milers)
What do you like about RMRR?  I love the camaraderie. Members come from all walks of life, but everyone is a runner at some level.
