As happens every year, several Road Runners made the pilgrimage to Boston to run the world’s oldest annual marathon on Patriot’s Day. While a nor’eastern made the 2007 race a wet and wild affair, the weather for this year’s marathon was almost perfect.

At mile 24 of the Boston Marathon most runners are either relieved that the hills of Newton are behind them, or are looking forward to the finish line on Boylston Street less than 5k ahead. But for Bill O’Dell at this year’s Boston Marathon the 24th mile was the most important one, because that’s where he planned to ask his girlfriend Holly to marry him.
