Tracy Peterson — Colorado HS Class 3A Coach of the Year

RMRR member Tracy Peterson was recently named Colorado HS Class 3A Coach of the Year. Below is Tracy’s story of how became a runner and how he became an award-winning coach.

A runner always has a story of where, how, or why they started running. I started back in the 8th grade at Chapman junior high school in Chapman, Kansas. In an attempt to get out of the cold, we had to run the mile. I ran that mile in 6:15 in wrestling practice on a warm snowy 30-degree day. I finished the 8th grade track season with a 5:12 for the mile, good enough for 2nd at the junior high league track meet. I was hooked on running fast. 2008 Awards and Volunteer Banquet

The 2008 Awards and Volunteer banquet is coming on Sunday, January 25!  The banquet honors everyone who helped the club be successful in 2008, and it’s always a fun time.  This year’s banquet will be hosted at the Fox Hollow Country Club; we’ll begin with refreshments around 6pm, and dinner will be served at 6:30p.  Club volunteers with 30 hours or more of service in 2008 can come for free; others who want to join us will pay $15.  Kids are free!  RSVP to Stephanie Struble, and we’ll see you there!
